“Twice in a lifetime” May Orfali tells her diamond tale…

May Orfali spoke with Gerard Riveron about her experience, meeting with Alexandra Mor- April 2016

“In 1989, I received a diamond ring that once, belonged to my mother. It was a very special gift I promised to wear forever!

The ring needed to be resized, so I went to Dorfman in 1998, and I had it mounted with 18Kt yellow gold.

In 2004, my husband took the ring again to Dorfman, this time to have it redesigned into a platinum and diamond wedding ring!

In 2012, Lisa Pacino-Leone invited to meet with High Jewelry Designer Alexandra Mor who, for her second appearance in Boston, featured a ‘Twice in a lifetime’ event during which the Artist was to meet customer one on one to propose “customers jewelry a new life”.

It was a perfect timing as my ring, through the 8 years of wear, had been damaged, and diamonds were becoming loose.

Meeting with Alexandra Mor was magic! Alexandra is a great listener. We had an intimate women talk and, from listening to my life story, Alexandra was inspired. She started to sketch a new design for my ring while we were chatting! Followed was a suggestion by her husband, Alon Mor, to re-cut the center diamond to perfection; which made an amazing difference. The manufacturing process took 4 month and now I wear, every day, my perfect “one of a kind” Alexandra Mor heirloom.

Remember Gerard, when I picked up my ring with my husband? I cried! It was so amazing. Even my husband’s ‘wow’ could be heard from afar!

Since then, I had Alexandra design for me a second ring for a family emerald which is not a perfect gem, but that also means a lot to me. It is now another amazing Alexandra Mor “one of a kind” heirloom”
